The Windwalker Humane Coalition is a dedicated group of professionals
who believe in the therapeutic benefits to people, animals, and society ofprograms based on the human/animal-companion bond and
who wish to respectfully work together for the development,advancement, and monitoring of the profession of pet assisted therapy.
The History:
We are a coalition focused upon creating and supporting
legislation, advocating for professional Pet Assisted Therapy
programs, and providing professional development and mentoring
in Professional Pet Assisted Therapy.
Windwalker Humane Coalition for Professional Pet Assisted Therapy
grew out of an inter-disciplinary state-wide conference held in 1995.
This was spearheaded by Pearl Salotto, inspired by her family therapy
pet D.J. Since that time, the Coalition has changed the face of health care,
elementary, high school and university education, as well as society in general,
through the profession of pet assisted therapy.
