My Kindergarten class had the privilage of having pet assisted education for 6 weeks. I have to say,
I have never seen my students so excited about an event as they were for pet therapy. They couldn't
wait for Wednesdays, so they could pet the dogs and see what new topic they would learn about.
This program helped my students develop a better understanding of pets and how
to appropriately interact with them. This program was rewarding in so many different ways, for everyone involved. Thank you Brenda Stone for coming to Macomber Primary School.

When Andy walks through the doors, our residents’ smiles glow from their faces. Andersen brings
back the forgotten memories of all the animal companions throughout their lives.
The fun, joys and their love comes through with a visit from ‘Andersen’!
Each resident thinks of Andy as ‘their’ pet and wait anxiously for him to make a return visit.

They LOVE him and so do I!

" My class at the Alice A. Macomber School of 21 Kindergarten students participated
in the Pet Assisted Therapy Program with Dr. Brenda Stone and her pets Eliza and Higgins.
The program aligned and connected to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks,
and was an excellent hands-on opportunity to interact with animals and was informative and fun.
The program was an enriching extension to our year.

" Dr Stones Pet Assisted Therapy was the highlight of my class day!
All of my students benefited from the hands on sessions, even those students
that were afraid of the dogs at first were holding and cuddling with them at the
end. Dr Stone and Mr Stone provided a safe lovely environment and my students
were taught how to respect, care for and above all..adore Higgins and Eliza."

"What a treat to have Linda come in with Oscar on Mondays.
They both light up our entire department.
Our patients are not always happy to be in the hospital,
yet when Linda and Oscar come in, they light up tremendously.
We appreciate their company and kindness."
