This program is designed to provide an academic foundation for individuals who:

·        appreciate the awesome implications of pets in our lives 

  •   understand our responsibility to all living things

 

·        see the possibilities that pets can provide for wellness, friendship, treatment,
education, stimulation, motivation, and character building

Certificate Program
at the Community College of Rhode Island


Mission Statement :

  • To provide an educational foundation for possible licensure or credentialing
    in this profession.
  • To expand the profession by developing standards for ethically based professional
    PAT programs.
  • To educate qualified PATFs who have an intuitive understanding of the
    Human Companion Animal Bond.



    This is a three course certificate program, upon completion of which the
    student receives a certificate from CCRI the student and pet may be
    credentialed by the  Windwalker Humane Coalition for Professional
    Pet Assisted Therapy.
